| | Because of its
large engine and enormous horsepower, to the driver the XK feels as if
it is barreling down straight stretches and shooting through sharp
turns. This is due to the relatively light weight of the chassis, which
means that drivers experience an almost tangible relationship with the
road and surrounding conditions without feeling as if they must use
excessive muscle to pilot the vehicle. The engineers at Jaguar have very
carefully crafted a vehicle that responds to light touches while
delivering powerful performance. If drivers do bear down aggressively or
attempt to over steer, they can expect to lose speed due to excessive
aerodynamic drag. The XK has far more torque than its previous
incarnations, which increases the sensation that a driver is piloting a
rocket on wheels.
A newly designed
LED light schemes adorn the front and rear, while the front is made up
of a series of vents to help decrease aerodynamic friction. The car has
no chrome, going instead with a single fitted aluminum body. Again, this
choice is undoubtedly based on the desire to create a vehicle that
moves as fluidly through the air as possible: the vehicle has reportedly
reduced its drag by 26 percent. Any separately affixed exterior
components may detract from a seamless glide, so they are notably
absent. However, the vehicle is not entirely lacking in exterior
flourishes. There are four exhausts and a wing mounted on the trunk that
gives the XK a solid yet playful appearance. In short, this version of
the Jaguar looks completely unlike any other Jags on the market in terms
of its styling and aggressive
presentation. |
